FIELD OF WORK
HELSINKI ZURICH OFFICE has gained extensive experience in complex planning and design tasks such as masterplanning, urban renewal, campus design and innovation hubs, airport areas, public spaces and place making as well as heritage reuse and urban housing. we base our work on new concepts that address sustainability, demographic change, culture and innovation ecosystems.

NETWORK
We work multi-disciplinarily with a network of outstanding international experts in the fields of traffic planning, economy, environment, sustainability, heritage and landscape design. Maintaining close ties to universities and schools for design, architecture and urbanism, think tanks and NGOs in Europe and Asia as well and fostering young architects and promoting an ongoing research culture within the office, have earned helsinkizurich a reputation as an innovative and dynamic ‘boutique’ office.

TEAM
HELSINKI ZURICH OFFICE is led by the three founding partners: Antti Ahlava, Tommi Mäkynen and Mirjam Niemeyer. We employ a staff of over 10 professionals including architects and urban designers of different nationalities. The compact team represents personal engagement, creativity and efficient implementation. All partners take part in the discourse and development of the projects, contributing their individual expertise to design and management in all phases of the project.
