Acli, Christian Associations of Italian Workers, is an association of laic Christians that, through a network of clubs, services, businesses, projects and specific associations, has been contributing for 72 years to weave the bonds of society, fostering forms of participation and democracy. Legally, the ACLI are presented as a "social promotion association": a widespread and organized system that promotes work and workers, educates and encourages active citizenship, defends, helps and supports citizens, especially those who are in marginalization or at risk of social exclusion. As an authoritative subject of organized civil society, ACLI are protagonists in the world of the so-called "third sector": volunteering, non-profit, social enterprise.
