Free Waste invented an innovative system for the decomposition of organic waste through the use of automated composites. The whole process is based on the decomposition by selected microorganisms without using any chemical substance and with minimum energy consumption. After only 3 days it is possible to have a complete degradation of organic waste. The resulting product have many applications.

One Page Summary

Free Waste Srl has patented a machine capable of demolishing organic waste within a short time (about 96 hours) with the goal of turning it into a real resource and reducing, if not eliminating, the use of chemical fertilizers. The machine, through organic degradation with selected bacteria, results in a continuous cycle of degradation of organic waste, transforming the organic resource into a compost of high nutritional content as it lacks much of the heavy metals. This by-product can be used for the production of compost and natural fertilizer. The machine is also immediately useful for demolition in small communities (municipal districts, condominiums, canteens, convents, etc.), thus becoming part of the European guidelines on circular economy and community composting. The new conception of rejection must be that which imagines it as a resource. The selected waste can be recycled and reused. If then all this happens at the place where waste is produced, a new economy is born. In Italy new perspectives have opened with the introduction of the decree 29/12/2016 No. 266 on community composting. In Europe there is a shift in the philosophy underlying the waste system from material to be freed by more or less rapid destruction of "resource". All strategic and regulatory acts starting with the VI environmental action program have as a priority objective the sustainable use of resources related to waste management. See the Communication from the Commission to the European Parliament to the Council, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions - The Missing Link - European Union Action Plan for the Circular Economy (2/12/2015 COM ( 2015) 614 final. In addition, the Commission presented in March 2016 a regulation to facilitate access to the market for organic fertilizers obtained from waste. In fact, there has been an increasing awareness of the damage caused by chemical fertilizers. The use of agrochemical compounds has altered ecosystems both in relation to fauna and flora; the most important consequences were:reduction of the genetic variability of living systems, the eutrophication processes of fresh and marine waters,chemical-physical and biological alteration of soils. Studies on the diffusion, transformation, persistence and accumulation in the tissues of plants and animals of chemical products used in agricultural processes, highlight more complex aspects of the interference induced by such products on ecosystem structures and functions. The damage to health and the environment resulting from an excessive and growing "chemicalisation" of agriculture is increasingly evident, both in terms of accumulation of toxic and carcinogenic residues in the adipose tissue of men and animals, and of soil poisoning, groundwater and surface etc. The environmental damage caused by chemical fertilizers that are added to the soil to maintain or increase productivity and therefore crop yield are noteworthy. The high fertilizations deeply modify the cycles of the elements (carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, etc.) which are delicate mechanisms for the maintenance of biological and chemical equilibria in an ecosystem and among the ecosystems of the biosphere. The majority of the soil improvers, instead, reintroduce in the environment harmful elements already present in the demolished organic: copper, zinc, lead, camdio, nickel, mercury, plastics etc. Our fertilizer aims to eliminate the use of both one and the other type of fertilizer. The composting machines currently on the market work by moving the staff into two chambers and blowing in air. In this way, the staff will be mature after about a month and during the maturation phase, in the second chamber, it can not be mixed with other waste re-introduced. In addition, the system needs to be mixed with wooden chips. The resulting compost is the product of what is injected so that if there are contaminants (glass, plastics, etc.) these are incorporated into the final product. See some major manufacturers CRTEC, COMAR, BIG HANNA. Our patented system uses selected bacteria that work continuously (ie it is not necessary to wait until the first waste placed has matured in compost, but can be placed at any time). It is very fast (few hours). because it does not have parts in mechanical movement, it produces compost without environmental contaminants. The machine has no consumables, only a very low consumption of energy and water. The composting machine is suitable for any producer of organic material whether they are private citizens, institutions or companies. Individuals would have the advantage of disposing of on the spot with advantages for the reuse of compost for agriculture or gardening as well as the reduction of the tax required for waste collection and treatment that is between 15% and 45%. If they are not interested in the final product, Free Waste withdraws it and with appropriate treatments makes it the finest natural fertilizer.
