The Idea:  
Our purpose is to counteract exclusion, help create better match between unemployed and companies and to have a better access to services and to other opportunities of welfare.
Our idea is to create a digital platform that matches and connects people of Siracusa with the rest of the society to best match their needs. This includes the Municipality of Siracusa (public services), companies (jobs), NGOs (volunteering), clubs (sports, food, social etc.). For instance, a citizen is feeling lonely and excluded and goes to the digital platform, she clicks on “meeting new people” and is given the options: volunteering, events, clubs, jobs etc. Then selects her interests and other criteria and is matched with the best choices for her to meet new people and gain a network.

The Process
A good innovation process starts with gaining insights in the context and the users. This ensures better ideas which are based on actual needs, and therefore can be implemented with greater success.
We know that every community is different and solutions need to be adapted to the context and the users where it needs to be implemented. Therefore, we will start with a research phase, where we will collect insight in Siracusa and all the different users and stakeholders to better develop and adjust the concept to fit this specific challenge. When the concept idea is created, it will be tested on the users and the feedback collected will be used to give further iterations to the concept until it is ready to be completed and implemented. In the implementation phase, we know from experience how important it is to create a correct launch plan, including marketing and communication strategy

Why VisionPilot?
We will use our theoretical and practical knowledge about co-creation, digital systems and innovation processes to gain the insights, process the knowledge and generate an innovative concept to help solve the challenge for Siracusa. We combine our experience with co-creation and cross-pollination workshops, social-innovation projects as well as experience with digital platform development.

The digital job matching platform Job On the Run, developed by Hanne Marklund, is an example of how we try to create alternative digital solutions to problem statements. This was created because there was identified that there was no way for unemployed and workplace to get an intelligent match easily.

In general, the social inclusion projects, the VisionPilot team has worked on have helped social excluded groups like: refugees, immigrants, unemployed and mentally ill gain network, jobs and a better quality of life. For instance, we have helped create employment and social inclusion in the social-ghetto Gellerup in Aarhus, Denmark, where the unemployment rate is high and there is a lack of social integration with the rest of the society.
