I was born and raised in the rural area of Mühlviertel near Freistadt in the county of Upper Austria. The foundation of my education was built in the primary school of my village, and a secondary school for information technology in the county capital. I then successfully completed an apprenticeship as chemical laboratory assistant at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. After military service, I worked in my field of profession with different companies and was able to gain extensive experience.
I decided to finish my high school diploma and did this by visiting evening classes while I completed my apprenticeship at the master school of chemistry and environmental engineering with a master craftsman’s diploma.
After gaining all this practical experience, I moved to Vienna to fulfil my long lasting dream of attending university. In my bachelor’s degree I studied prehistoric and historical archaeology with the main focus on experimental archaeology, sociology, epistemology, physics and the relationship between science, technology and society. In this period, I was involved in projects that were initiated by the Museum of natural history in Vienna, the Mamuz Museum in Asparn an der Zaya and the village Radmer in Styria. Due to the methods of archaeology and these public projects my interest in inter- and transdisciplinary research was born. To gain deeper knowledge in this field and to broaden my horizon I chose the postgraduate master programme of Human- and Social Ecology. Within it, I focus on transdisciplinary science (research linked to stakeholders outside of the field of university), interdisciplinary research, environmental history, the concept of the social metabolism, as well as human – nature relationships.
My urge to leave the narrow hallways of university and to work in a transdisciplinary field led me to founding a Start-Up with two colleagues. It is our aim to combine social-ecological dimensions with the spirit of entrepreneurship, to increase the wellbeing of society and nature.
