The core team Track-It was created by three fairly different young entrepreneurs. Motivated by the university project “Sustainability Challenge“ and the EU project “Playpark Vienna“, we had the ambition to create an innovation, which has not only an impact on sustainability, but even more to the awareness of consumers. Together we combine the interdisciplinary scientific background of archeology, biology, chemistry, philosophy, physics and socioecology. Therefore we experienced a high diversity of thinking and acting, that breaks out of the box.
Thanks to workshops at universities, professional consulting and private environment, Track-It found a great bunch of different people from various disciplines and organisations, who are willing to support us. Through this network we were able to do a lot of research and build the formal frame for our application. In cooperation with whataventure, we construed a clear and precise business plan at the very beginning. Afterwards we joined some consulting meetings with Dr. Christian Rammel of the WU Vienna, who did a great job to connect us with experienced entrepreneurs and potential partners. Parallel to logistic and formal work, we designed first visualizations and started to program the application by ourselves.
So right now we are on the verge to transform our idea into a company. Thereby we differ two periods of development:
Along the first period we are creating a formal frame in terms of the mobile Track-It application. In addition we refer to data of those companies, which are cooperating with the Sustainability Challenge, the playpark project and companies which are willing to share their sustainable impact and benefit from the advantages of Track-It.
For the second period we are already starting to use the blockchain technology. Blockchain presents a global, inclusive solution for traceability. Building on the blockchain enables a global peer to peer network to form an open platform that can deliver neutrality, reliability and security. It makes it possible to avoid double-spending of certificates and claims, which is otherwise impossible without a trusted third party.
Instead of getting controlled by economical monopoles, we are striving to think and act by ourselves, likewise giving everyone the opportunity to transparency, so we still have a voice in our future.
