B4D deals with the implementation of the biomimicry approach into the innovatove design of the sustainable product that enables planting of bioproducts in the urban areas. The company B4D consists of designers, engineers, and scientists.

Common people living in large cities have already forgotten to grow their own food. They lack gardens, time and they are often overburdened by work. The traditional way to grow own fresh food is deeply embedded in the culture of Central Europe. We selected our general objective to create a simple innovative and creative way of balcony gardening. Biocultivator is an innovative bio-inspired balcony greenhouse for urban areas. The relationship of people to our environment is very important for us as product developers.

Therefore our solution takes several features into consideration:
• The possibility of planting organic vegetables and fruit;
• Production the fertile soil by vermicomposting of kitchen waste;
• Self-irrigating system that enables to ensure plant survival for modern, busy people;
• Integrated ultimate smart tool for automation, monitoring, and remote control;

Combination of all these functions is implemented in our „Balcony BioCultivator“. The process of cultivation is easy, clear, aesthetic and innovative. Our aim is to promote not only the local cultivation of organic fruits and vegetables, but we also want to give the whole project a kind of human educational purposes. The product will be in symbiosis with the nature and environment. Our aim is to adapt and to improve our product and business model to create positive handprints along whole product lifecycle with shrinking its negative footprints.

With the solution, we want for people in cities to be more sensitive about food, composting waste and nature itself.
