greenApes was founded in November 2012 with the aim of promoting sustainable lifestyles with innovative digital apps. In October 2012, it was granted a contribution from FILAS (Lazio region) as research spin-off. In March 2013, it released the first version of the Platform, a mobile iOS application: greenApes - the sustainability social network, a digital place to share green ideas and actions. Since then, greenApes released also a mobile Android version and a Web-Responsive platform - all free for users to download. Moreover, greenApes developed a desktop Corporate platform, for businesses interested to engage their employees on CSR.

greenApes is a certified Benefit Corporation, with a unique and acknowledged expertise in deploying digital solutions for sustainability engagement. The team has scientific and hands-on competence in sustainability, communication and ICT development. Our core competencies are:
- development of mobile and web tools for sustainability
- design of engaging user experiences with gamified and social dynamics
- creation of captivating content for sustainability
- striking graphic identity
- integration with third party apps and services

In 2017 greenApes counted approximately 25,000 new sustainable actions, 7,000 new followers on our social media pages, 140 commercial partners offering rewards in Italy and Germany - where we have several Users Communities.

greenApes is also a FIWARE based solution which has a successful track-record with EU FP7 and Horizon2020 projects, and received the EU SME Seal of Excellence.
