Aftab is a founding member of Legacy WM and has been the Director from its inception.
He has worked across the public sector regionally and nationally at strategic and operational levels. He was the Head of Stronger Communities for Government Office for the West Midlands (GOWM) and was seconded to Urban Living (Housing Pathfinder), where he developed expertise in housing and regeneration.
As the founding Chair and later Director of the Bangladeshi Youth Forum (BYF), Aftab provided leadership to a successful project to empower disenfranchised young people, many of whom went on to successful careers.
