After my high school diploma (IT and programming) and two regional training courses (focused on programming and web designer), my passion immediately became a profession. My first experience left me the mark for all my future projects and ideas. I was just over 20 years old and I was doing some improvement in user experience and the U.I. for an already existing program. The result was really curious: according to our customers, the software worked better. I had "only" changed the look and feel.
Nobody was still talking about user experience and user interface yet, but it was what we had done.
I’ve continued for more than 10 years in web programming, engaged as freelance or on behalf of local web agencies and I have developed web-oriented software and dynamic websites, personalized CMS, but I have always keep on mind my first serious programming experience in all my projects.
In 2006, thanks to Paolo (at that time president of A.I.S.M.), my future copartner and husband, I became an A.I.S.M. volunteer (Associazione Italiana Sclerosi Multipla - Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association), which I still belong to today.
Our dream of creating a project that includes and merges digital and social was born in 2014 from the winning project presented at the Startup Weekend Tim WCap competition and evolves into a startup: Urban Works srls and the Guidabile project.
In 2015 we win a competition notice of the City of Syracuse and I become mom for the first time; in 2016 I still become for the second time. My new copartners are called Gabriele and Simone and they are our children. Also in 2016, Nadia join us and become the creative architect and designer expert in “design for all”, with the mission of making space usefull for all the people. Our goal is: design for people, over the barriers, by rethinking the project with an inclusive and holistic approach.
