October events: Inspiring Leeuwarden social challenges open day and solution providers info.session!
BDF is selected to be one of the 20 European Social Challenge Nodes of the www.SocialChallenges.eu platform. This is a European online ecosystem fostering the interaction between social innovators and SMEs for the co-development and take up of innovations with a clear social impact. The platform aims to be a social innovation marketplace.
Till September 10th, challenge owners could submit their social challenge to BDF. Five challenges were submitted from Friesland, 30 across Europe in total. The Frisian submissions vary from elderly care in small villages to the search for ‘hidden entrepreneurship’ and talent development for immigrants.
We are now looking for innovative solutions! During the open day organised by Mentorprogramma Friesland we already harvested some great ideas and also names of social innovators to follow-up on. See the picture with all submitted colourful ideas!
A few days afterwards during our info session on 17 October we have supported potential solution providers to elaborate on their ideas and turning them into concrete solutions and handing them in effectively.
Organisations from all over Europe can submit innovative solutions to the 30 EU challenges available on the platform until December 21st. The best solutions will be funded by the European Commission with €30.000,- and will be carried out in 2018!
