Amicitia is the Latin for friendship and it is in the spirit of this that we wish to introduce our model of support for the elderly to Zagreb. This will be achieved through the integration of our technology platform to connect individuals and the elderly in need of companionship for daily practical activities and emotional support.

One Page Summary

Amicitia co-create open and innovative projects to enrich communities and support the most socially disadvantaged members of society. Along with our project partners we provide technologies to keep the elderly safe and secure in their homes; fully connected them to local care networks. Our social hub adds to this technical support by providing participatory spaces for community workshops, coordinating care groups and friendly call services.

With Independent Living Ireland, we support hospitals, nursing homes and elderly care organisations with over 1000 individual users availing of our products and services. Also our partners, Friendly Call Cork, provide support for 175 people each week in the region. Through seed funding from Enterprise Ireland and Cork County Council we are together developing the next generation of technologies to support the elderly in Ireland.

From this experience of running projects for the elderly in Ireland we believe we are in a perfect position to take our learning and adapt it to a new environment with this social challenge. We  build empathetic products and services that can make real and lasting social impact - guided by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) which encourages elderly stakeholders to have a voice in the design process.
