The members of Intellia ICT work since many years with mobile applications and Augmented Reality frameworks in various domains. Our researchers have long experience in EU projects (both from a technical and managerial perspective).

More recently, we have worked in an EU funded project (EXPERIENCE) that dealt with developing and testing the adoption of NFV/SDN technologies to facilitate AR applications in 5G environments. The first application was based on the cultural heritage and arts domains providing the user with 3D content and high resolution videos about historic monuments; namely, Bradenburg gate, Eiffel Tower and Ponte Vecchio. The second application was a training application against domestic or industrial fires. The third application was a mobile learning application about the planets of our solar system (i.e., entertainment domain). The fourth application was based on the domain of education and, in particular, the field of kids’ learning. The application was built using the Unity3D environment and Vuforia framework for the optical detection of target images. The application rendered 3D quizzes to the user where the questions were randomly retrieved in real-time from a pool of available questions in the database stored in the backend. Also, the ordering of the possible answers was random to avoid kids remember the ordering of correct answers previously met.
