Joana Carneiro Pinto is graduated in Psychology and holds a PhD in Vocational Psychology from the School of Psychology of the University of Minho, with the thesis "Career Self-Management: study of a psychological intervention model with research grant holders", concerning a theme that is in the transition between vocational psychology and social and organizational psychology.
Since 2012 she has been an Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Human Sciences (FCH) of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP), having previously taught at the University of Minho and ISLA in Leiria.
She coordinates the Master in Psychology in Business and Economics, a 2nd cycle of studies of the FCH, in collaboration with the Catholic Lisbon School of Business and Economics, is part of the team of support to the Coordination of the 1st cycle of studies in Psychology in the FCH and collaborated in the Master's Degree in Family Sciences from the Institute of Family Sciences (ICF) at FCH. In her teaching career, she has taught 12 different curricular units, such as: development of academic and professional competences, scientific research methodologies, quantitative methods, statistics applied to psychology, psychometrics, psychological assessment, general psychology, psychology of learning, and educational psychology.
She is a full member of the Institute of Environmental Health of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and was a collaborating member of the Center for Research in Psychology (CIPSI) of the University of Minho. She has been involved in nationally and internationally funded research projects related to well-being and life projects, assessing the needs and effectiveness of psychological interventions in institutional contexts, and scientific research methodologies.
She has 6 books published / organized, 2 international and 4 national; 14 chapters published in book, of which 2 international and 12 national, 24 papers in international journals with referee, 10 papers in national journals with referee, 19 papers in international and national scientific meetings, 62 oral communications by invitation / proposed and 21 in panel (poster) at national and international events. She was also involved in the organization of 18 scientific events, 8 international and 10 national events. She has 4 orientations of master students completed and integrated 4 juries of doctorate and 7 of masters.
She has experience of work in the scope of psychological evaluation and intervention in the construction of healthy life projects.
