I have gained extensive experience in conducting research and carrying out action-research projects, nationally and internationally. I am a University teacher at the Faculty of Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I also collaborate with the non-profit and non-governmental organization "one child, one world" - EPEK, a community structure situated at the center of Athens, Greece. Since 2009, EPEK works together with a large migrant community towards a more effective social inclusion process. Only in 2018, EPEK has collaborated with 700 families of which 80% are migrants, and all of them have at least one child under 12 years. I believe that effective social inclusion happens at community level. I also believe that the promotion of shared experiences between the local population and the migrant population supports mutual understanding and acceptance.
