Thomas was born in Villach, Austria in 1983. Early travels to the Dominican Republic and Namibia led him to study cultural anthropology, specializing in medical anthropology. He studied in Munich under Dr. Stanley Krippner and in Vienna under Dr. Armin Prinz. After his B.A. he worked as a research assistant for Dr. Michaela Noseck and then went on to work more directly with people in the area of social work. Here he discovered in a practical way the power of physical activity and drama for the cognitive and social well being, which later let him to enroll in teacher education.
His creative background is in Capoeira Angola, which he practiced from 2002 to 2008 under Contra Mestre Kenneth Borges and Mestre Luis Senzala as well as in Guitar Craft, an innovative musical training developed by King Crimson guitarists Robert Fripp, where he performed as a player in Argentina, Spain, Germany, Italy and Austria.
After attending the Summer Intensive Program of the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards, which is part of Fondazione Teatro della Toscana, Thomas began organizing projects for the Workcenter in Vienna. In the summer of 2016 he began an internship through the Erasmus+ Program at the Open Program of the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards under director Mario Biagini and continues to work with them.
