Soleterre is a Foundation that works for the acknowledgement and application of the Right to Health in its wider meaning. For this reason, besides providing care and medical assistance, it commits itself to the safeguarding and promotion of psycho-physical well-being for everyone, both individually and collectively, at every age and in every part of the world.
Prevention, denunciation and the countering of inequality and violence, whatever cause generates it, are an integral part of Soleterre’s activity: because health is social justice.
The right to health is inextricably linked to living conditions, safeguarding and promoting it means acting to eliminate inequalities and improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable people and communities.
To this end, Soleterre is implementing projects and activities to:
- bring healthcare and medical assistance and support the strengthening of national health services;
- foster access to education and the realization of educational paths and social animation;
- support the search for a job and the creation of social enterprise through orientation and training;
- counter violence and discrimination by offering support to those who are victims and favouring social and political participation.
Soleterre Foundation is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is registered in the Register of Associations that Perform Activities in Support of Immigrants at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies and in the Register of Associations Performing Activities in the Field of Combating Discrimination at UNAR (National Office for the Fight Against Racial Discrimination established by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers). Soleterre is a member of the Union for International Cancer Control and was awarded with the Silver Plate of the Italian Presidency for activities in favor of paediatric oncology. Soleterre is a member of Global Compact Network Italia.
