One Page Summary

Chat4MentalHealth will strengthen the Carregal Do Sal occupational unit, by proposing and conducting a collective and challenging project: the co-creation and use of digital conversations, as a new tool to reinforce social interactions and to empower the Carregal Do Sal mental health community as a whole. The digital conversations will also be able to monitor the social interactions inside this ecosystem and will provide tips to the users in order to improve their social inclusion.

All the Carregal Do Sal ecosystem will be involved, namely:

- the persons with mental illness

- their relatives, if existing

- health professionals (nurses)

- social workers

- technicians of the municipality and associations

- specialist services providers (Vários)

ChatMentalHealth will be consist on a face-to-face training that will:

1) Empower the persons with mental illness and their ecosystem with new knowledge on mental health community care and the importance of social interactions in this context.

2) Engage them into collective co-creation of digital conversations, able to measure and to reinforce the social interactions in between the members of the mental health community and thus the social inclusion of persons with mental illness.

This face-to-face training will produce the inputs for a later step: the opening of the digital conversations, made available for the European mental health community. Through this positive action, the stigma affecting the persons with mental disorders will also be addressed. During all the project, the persons with mental illness and their close environment will be placed at the centre of a pioneering technological and innovation process, thus also allowing them to gain skills that will be able to improve their chances to get employed
