I have been actively involved in voluntary work for 20 years. I joined the Joseph Rowntree Foundation in the Policy and Research department in August 2004 leading on a ten year programme to expand and influence a range of social policy issues relating to the area.
I am currently the CEO of an organisation called Muslim Women's council which is based in the Bradford area, located close to Manchester. MWC’s aim is to ensure that Bradford excels at being a vibrant city and believes this is achievable by understanding and responding to the complexity of the problems facing the city, its inhabitants, and by helping to celebrate its strengths. MWC’s aim is to listen and intelligently formulate ideas through meaningful open and respectful dialogue.
