Master in "Accesibilidad Universal y Diseño para Todos" with the thesis "Tourism a powerful tool for development” at the University of Jaén, Spain (2014).
Licentiate degree in Organization and Management Lisbon (1986)
After being an auditor at KPMG Peat Marwick (1986-1989) and business analyst of investment projects in IAPMEI - Institute for Support to Small and Medium Enterprises and Investment, of the Ministry of Economy (1990-2007), I had dedicated myself to the promotion of Tourism for All in Portugal.
From 2008 to September of 2012 she developed the brand Accessible Portugal, working with the travel agencies and tourist activities, especially dedicated to customers with special access requirements.
Since October of 2012, my activity is carried out providing consultancy and training in tourism, raising awareness of the importance of tourism for All at a social level and its economic potential for countries, as a highly regarded consultant in this matter, for the National Tourism Organization (NTO), Turismo de Portugal, IP and other entities.
I have several scientific articles published and I was hired as an expert for several studies related to tourism for all. I had been speaker at many conferences and seminars at national and international level.
-President of Accessible Portugal – Promotion of accessible tourism in Portugal – since 2016;
-Expert of the Project BRENDAIT – Building a Regional Network for the Development of an Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Destination (September 2015 to March 2017).
- Board Member of ENAT (European Network for Accessible Tourism) for the period 2012-2020:
- Expert for the European Commission (DG Enterprise and Industry- Tourism Unit E1) on working groups on the Senior Tourism Initiative «Europe, Best Destination for Seniors» (2013-2014);
- Expert for the European Commission (DG Enterprise and Industry – Tourism Unit E2) on the study "Mapping skills and training needs to improve accessibility in tourism services" presented at the European Commission, in June 2014;
- Selected for the Board of EULSTIB - European Union Low Season Tourism Initiative Board - 2015-2016, "Towards and age-friendly tourism" (European Commission - DG Growth, Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SME’s).
- Trainer of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, in Portugal, for Heritage Officers and the technical staff of the Portuguese Museum Network- 2014;
- Certified trainer (CCP - Skills Certificate Pedagogical) by the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training.
- Member of the Portuguese Standardization Technical Committee for Quality in Tourism (CT144) Turismo de Portugal, IP.
