A Psychology and Criminology graduate who is currently working full time as an ABA therapy with a patient who is doing home education. I have been working as an ABA therapist for a year with three different patients. I have done home-education and also shadowed them to school and in public places in order to improve their social skills.
From an early age I have discovered my interest in the “psychology of children”. Hence, I applied for a Pedagogy profile for kindergarten and primary school where I developed my knowledge of psycho-pedagogy and psychology. The first two years of high school involved only shadowing teachers which in turn built the foundation for the following two years when I was also assessed while teaching. Upon graduation I have received a diploma in teaching in both English and Romanian at a kindergarten and primary school level. During high school, I also volunteered at an orphanage and an autism centre in order to expand the experience of working with children in different settings. This was when my passion for the autism field was spurred. Thus, I have chosen a Psychology course at Birmingham City University, in England, a country where choosing to study in England, where the autism research is way more advanced comparative to many other countries.
Working as an ABA tutor improved my skills, and also gave me the opportunity to create new ones. From being more organized to being more flexible, ABA therapy offered me the chance of becoming a more qualified person in many areas.
I plan to continue working in the autism field, fully dedicating myself to it.
Being passionate and enthusiastic in my work along with the skills and experience I have gained, I could put this into practice of an entrepreneur and also to further develop my potential and aim to make a lasting impact in the community.
