I am a systems designer with a first-class honours degree in Information Systems from Trinity College, Dublin. I have seven years experience working as a front-end web developer for large corporates and SME's before deciding to establish my own social enterprise projects.

In 2012, I co-founded Independent Living Ireland to provide technology solutions to support the elderly and disabled. In 2015, I established Amicitia Health and Social Care to complement the work of Independent Living Ireland and apply a social hub concept which is used to coordinate care networks in rural communities and instigate change through social innovation and community development initiatives. Both of these organisations have grown over the last number of years and we have provided support for over 1000 clients with surpluses from our business activity redistributed to reach new communities and instigate new projects on a regular basis.

This year I am one of 26 advocates chosen to promote the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) through a programme run by the Irish charity Development Perspectives. This SDG Challenge (http://sdgchallenge.net/) will equip me with the knowledge, skills and motivation to take informed action to contribute towards the achievement of the SDG's.

This work aligns closely with my social enterprise projects and the technology solutions we are developing with the help of seed funding from Enterprise Ireland. I am passionate about applying technology and systems design principles to tackle the most complex issues in society. Solutions to these problems can only be found by engaging with key partners and stakeholders through multidisciplinary projects and I look forward to finding partners from across the EU to work with and affect social change across the region.
