Dr Asha Patel (founder of Innovating Minds CIC) is a registered Clinical Psychologist with a post graduate diploma and over 10 years of clinical experience in various settings which include community, inpatient psychiatric rehabilitation, secure forensic mental health hospitals and within the education sector. She is passionate about providing specialist psychological support for young people in education, training and employment.

Her experience from the National Health Service and the Independent sector has exposed her to working with a diverse and complex clinical population. She has worked across a wide age range from young children to the older adult population presenting with psychosis, mood disorders, personality disorders, learning disabilities, autism, dementia and co-morbid disorders. Her appreciation and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team has enabled her to promote the need for holistic assessments and treatments; and she has contributed with her experience of conducting detailed psychological assessments of cognitive functioning, wellbeing, personality and risk; formulations and evidence-based interventions (i.e. CBT, DBT, REBT and schema therapy).

Dr Patel is always keen to get involved in projects which support those that are less fortunate. Her passion to bring hope and help others transfers into her work.
