I am a social impact-driven entrepreneur believing that current challenges are a chance to redefine and shape our future in a positive way. Peter Drucker’s quote ‘The best way to predict the future is to create it’ has always been my guiding principle. My Economics and Psychology studies have given me a broad understanding of the challenges we are facing in the 21st century and the economic and political consequences they entail. What I find most fascinating are the wide-ranging interdependences between the labor market performance, the quality of education systems and the economic success within one country. To get a deeper understanding of the public education sector and to face qualities and deficiencies of the system directly I became a Fellow of Teach for Austria in 2014. For two years I taught 150 children from 14 nations aged 10-15 in a so called ‘high risk’ school in Vienna. On a personal level my time as a Teach for Austria Fellow has been the most formative and inspiring in my life. Enabling children to overcome existing obstacles and supporting them to work towards a promising career made me realize that impact can be triggered by one person on a small scale even in a stagnant system. Working with those children also made me realize that the root of some societal challenges we face is non-functioning integration.
For this reason I founded the social business MORE THAN ONE PERSPECTIVE, following the vision ‘We live in a society where your future is shaped by education, engagement and performance – and not by origin.’ We aim to look on integration from a different perspective.
