One Page Summary

Our proposal is to set an international, multimedial, multicultural and of course multilingual no-profit library in order to improve relationships among different linguistic ethnic groups respect to the Italian borns residents.
A mutual understanding among different cultures, including the local one is basically the basis for our plan. In summary: knowledge generates culture, and culture encourages integration.
We would like to create a book swap that collects books written in the languages of origin of the various communities (Nigerian, Chinese, Romanian, Moldavian, Cameroonian, Moroccan, Ukrainian, Tunisian, Russian, Philippine, etc.).
This therefore involves the co-presence not only of books in different languages, but of the same text translated into several languages; this favours both the reading and the literary approach in one’s own language of origin, and the curiosity towards other source languages, true richness that aims to be a physical place welcoming people, intersecting their deep experiences as human beings, developping their human, ethical and literary approach.
A greater integration brings in the end a greater security.
- The actors involved in the project are neighborhood’s residents, various foreign ethic groups, the institutions.
- The are no competitors, such an idea has never been attempted.
- It is important to create an informal, open space, comfortable, in order to favourite the entry - the access to the not habitual libraries’ customers.
