We are dedicated to showing the world the beautiful and rich culture of Kenya through its cuisine. We are creating employment opportunities to Kenyan hobby chefs living in the Netherlands. We are actively engaging a part of the Dutch society that has roots in Kenya, Dutch families who have adopted Kenyan children and a bunch of very curious and adventurous citizens.

GATHER. COOK. EAT. MAKE MERRY. REPEAT

Chakula B.V. is a great start-up company based in the Netherlands. We have been in operation since January 2017. We will take you on a Grand Kenyan Culinary Safari where you will experience the beauty, the warmth and the very best of Kenyan Cuisine, Culture and Courtesy. It is an experience you will love and be proud to share with your family, friends, colleagues and everyone you know.

Kenyan cuisine is a celebration of rich, fresh, simple but very tasty ingredients passed from decades of generations. It is bold and satisfying, rich and textural and uses a whole palette of flavours. This cuisine is influenced by Kenya's ethnic diversity and vibrant culture which includes 44 different ethnic tribes.

Chakula B.V. is:

1. Creating a platform for Kenyans living in the Netherlands, where they can proudly share their rich culture with their families, friends and colleagues here.

2. Creating employment opportunities for Kenyan hobby chefs. Most Kenyans are amazing cooks. We learn the art of cooking at a very young age from the best chefs in this world i.e. our mothers, grandmothers...the neighbour etc. Our team brings a great wealth of experience, knowledge and lots of laughter. We offer flexible working days and our team chooses when they work so they can have a perfect balance with their family life. Our senior employees are the best addition to this team! Despite bringing years of knowledge and expertise, they are able to work full-time. This is very important especially at this critical stage of setting up this company. We are still expanding this team.

3. Connecting a very special group of Dutch families that have adopted children from Kenya. They finally have a platform that they can connect their children to their Kenyan roots.

4. Bringing together a bunch of very curious and adventurous citizens of the world. This group has no connection with Kenya whatsoever, but they love to be part of the new thing in town and unique experiences that are not over commercialized.

Our main activities include:

1. Monthly Kenyan Cooking Workshops in Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Wageningen and soon in Amersfoort. We will be adding more locations in the near future.

2. Catering services for authentic Kenyan food all over The Netherlands. We proudly offer catering services for both personal or business needs. Our catering services range from the most elegant affair to a business luncheon or a family and friends dinner at home. We meet your event needs by exploring options and ideas with you.

3. We have food stands during different African cultural events and festivals. We would like to expand beyond this and be part of the Nationwide Dutch food festivals.
