One Page Summary

Mieleinsieme is a project born with a basic idea, which is that of sharing equipment, premises, experiences and work; this is why it reveals its viability and sustainability right from the start. We have already identified the facilities that will become the community laboratory: a shed for agricultural use that will be granted free of charge by the owner Melania Chiosso, with whom agreements will be made to reimburse the costs of light and water when the honey extraction lab will be in operation.
Melania Chiosso, Stefano Zanini and Larry Punzetti are individual beekeepers (4 years of experience in the beekeeping sector) who will offer their organizational and management support to the project (one day a week dedicated to the project), convinced of the benefits that a reality like this could create.
We also met Madreselva Cooperative who gave us complete availability for the development and implementation of educational paths with schools; some of which are already in being, but with difficulty, due to the absence of a dedicated facility, as our honey extraction lab and our didactic apiary will be. For the realization of the didactic apiary, Madreselva Coop will provide, free of charge, its didactic apiary and its apiculture experts for the informative and educational material that will be used, while Le Cascate will provide the honey extraction equipment, the hives (which are in the same place as the honey extraction facility), tables and chairs for the classes and the tunnel for the visits to the hives. As a partial compensation for this they will receive a percentage on the rate that the schools pay to the Madreselva Coop.
Ianua Api, who has been consulting Le Cascate for the past three years, has made itself available to follow the training course for beekeepers, providing companies and knowledge.
We are already contacting some researchers of the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences of Bologna University who will direct us on the type of research that would be useful to undertake in the context of beekeeping in the mountains.
